The Dzokden Practice Community is an international network of individuals, practice groups, training institutes and retreat centers under the leadership of HE Khentrul Rinpoché Jamphel Lodrö. Our mission is to generate the causes for global peace and harmony by practicing in accordance with the teachings of the Kalachakra Tantra. While we embrace the vast diversity of wisdom traditions in this world, we specialize in the profound path of Vajra Yoga—the unique teachings of the Kalachakra completion stage as taught in the Jonang-Shambhala Tradition.
Our organization is founded upon six core principles:
1) We recognize the unique interdependence of all sentient beings and therefore take universal responsibility for the welfare of this planet and its many inhabitants; 2) We realize that this world is intellectually mature and yet emotionally fragile, therefore, we embrace the bodhisattva ideal of compassionate warriors who embody courage and perseverance; 3) We believe that the root of conflict lies in the mind of bias, therefore, we value the cultivation of an unbiased approach rooted in the qualities of tolerance, receptivity, curiosity, and flexibility; 4) We know that real transformation comes only through the skillful application of effort, therefore we practice dedicated to the manifestation of peace and harmony in all aspects of our lives; 5) We see that lack of clarity leads to greater confusion, therefore, we emphasize clarity and authenticity to support our understanding and communication; 6) Due to excessive individualism, people are overwhelmed by loneliness, anxiety, and fear, therefore we embrace the essence of Kalachakra which is the unity of loving kindness and compassion and practice with open hearts to unite all peoples as a single global family.
Through Dzokden, we envision a world without limitations, a world where each of us has the capacity to discover our infinite potential and where—regardless of the society we belong to or the traditions we follow—individuals can come together as a single global family united in our perfect nature. In such a world free from all forms of bias, our minds will abide in complete peace and harmony, giving rise to a prosperous planet in perfect balance where spirituality flourishes.
