Bring Your Practice to Life
Since 1980, Zen Mountain Monastery has offered traditional, yet innovative, ways to explore Buddhist teachings and practice through their programs. Attending a retreat at the Monastery means stepping into a dynamic spiritual community and way of living that’s uniquely conducive to discovering how to bring your spiritual practice to life within your everyday activities.
Whether you come for a Sunday Morning Program, a weekend retreat, a meditation intensive, or a period of residency, you’ll have a chance to experience the Monastery’s cloister. In contrast to a culture infused with distraction, the Monastery’s cloister is a refuge—what John Daido Loori, Roshi, the founding abbot, called “an archive of sanity”—a place to encounter your own inner silence and stillness, wisdom and compassion.
